Anaesthesiology

Surgical procedures require partial or complete loss of pain sensation and this is achieved by injectable drugs or inhalation anesthesia. Pre, intra operative and post operative care of patients is taken. Pain clinic run by this department takes care of acute pain as well as intractable chronic pain. As for undergraduate students, airway patency and care of unconscious patient is taught along with hands on training for administration of local anesthesia.
