This department is involved in diagnosis and treatment of disease of the eye and its appendages. Apart from history taking, tonometry and examination of the eye, students learn about advanced techniques like A scan B scan, slit lamp examination, retinoscopy, perimetry, optometry, fundus camera and laser treatment of retinal disease. Cataract surgery and IOL implants can be witnessed.
