Respiratory Medicine

This department deals with study of causes, diagnosis, treatment, prevention and palliative care of lung disease. Students learn about asthma, COPD, infectious and malignant lung disease. Use of spitometry, lung function evaluation and procedures like pleural tapping , pleural biopsy and bronchoscopy are also studied. Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP) is an integral part of this department.
